Triangle Park

When the settlers arrived at the High Falls, the area forming the triangle in the center of town was a swamp with a stream running through it. In 1873, the Village bought the property from its owners, contained the stream in an underground culvert, and dried out the area bounded by N. Main, N. Franklin and E. Washington Sts.

A park was a perfect addition to the modern town. Trees were planted around the perimeter, a fountain was added at the south end along with benches. The Bandstand was added at the north end of the park. A millstone from one of the area’s early mills was moved to the park in the 1920s. A monument to the Chagrin men who served in World War I was constructed.

Triangle Park serves the village well as the central location for village concerts, Fourth of July and Memorial Day events, Christmas Lighting and the New Year’s Eve Popcorn Ball Drop.
