THANK YOU!
Campaign Update: May 9, 2020 part 2
We are deeply grateful to the many hundreds of donors who have donated to Save Grove Hill. This outpouring of support, which grew like a massive wave despite the chilling surge of a global pandemic, has been nothing short of miraculous. As recently as seven weeks ago, it seemed certain that the Village’s historic character would be ruined forever; the beloved Bancroft home would be demolished and replaced by a five-home subdivision. Six weeks ago the Western Reserve Land Conservancy secured a contract to purchase the Bancroft House and Grove Hill property if we could raise $600,000 by May 9th. We promised to preserve and guarantee the restoration of the Bancroft home, and to partner with the Village to create a new park on Cottage and Main.
We do not yet know how much we have raised, but we are prepared to announce that we are going to complete this project no matter what. This is so important to us, to the Village’s leaders, and to the people who love Chagrin. If you have not yet given, please make your pledge or gift as soon as possible. If you’ve already given, thank you! Together, and only by coming together, we were able to preserve this iconic keystone property.
